In 2013, the BAET curriculum was developed based on IQF, where the graduates must have four competencies: attitudes, general and specific skills, and knowledge. The study program is required to formulate a cognate scientific program to determine the four competencies in IQF. In its development, IQF has followed the development of science and technology and the Industrialization era 4.0 since 2018. IQF has refined its learning technique by implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in all Indonesian universities.

The BAET study program has the ILO adopted from a cognate consortium called PAGI (Indonesian Agroecotechnology Association). In 2015, the IQF curriculum was developed into an Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and it is derived into the ILO and CLO of BAET. In the 2017 national accreditation and 2018 ASEAN certification, BAET simplified the components and composition of the ILO from 23 to 11. Currently, OBE is developed in all forms of learning, such as collaborative and participatory classes using project-based learning and case studies methods. In preparing the CLO and determining the learning method, BAET collaborates with stakeholders to reflect on curriculum preparation based on the market signal that refers to the graduate profile produced by BAET. The market signal is a signal of competence in market demand for graduates who can work as employment or job creator professionally. Market signals can be obtained from alumni, graduate users (industry and profession), and students through tracer study. Furthermore, input from stakeholders will shape the composition of courses and teaching materials following the development of laboratories at the BAET study program.

Visi, Misi dan Tujuan

BAET Study Program was established in 2008 to restructure the curriculum and amalgamate five existing scientific fields, namely Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Soil Science, and Pests and Plant Diseases. BAET scientific philosophy is sustainable agriculture which is derived from the vision and mission of the university and faculty of agriculture as follows:

Vision

By 2025, the BAET study program is becoming a center of leading agricultural teaching and learning, fulfilling international standards, and participating actively in sustainable agriculture evolvement and activities to escalate the economic and social value of society

Missions

  1. Implementing the morals and ethics to manage agricultural sectors and environment to reach and appreciate resources that God creates
  2. Implementing and developing the academic character at the international level in sustainable agriculture based on environment management toward  the professional graduate, competency, and ethics.
  3. Integrating sustainable agriculture and disseminating technology to increase the economic value based on environmental management for social services

Hasil Pembelajaran

Program Learning Objective (PLO) and Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO)

MSWM is a master program held at the FA UB focused on Soil and Water Management, which has vision to become an excellent study program in Asia by 2025. In the context of the student learning process, MSWM aims to increase students’ abilities in various skills and knowledge in research and thesis writing as well as publication of their research results in various accredited national journals and reputable international journals. Therefore, MSWM has collaborated with various government and private institutions from within the country with research centers, agricultural, abroad collaborated in the learning process through a double degree with Chulalongkorn (Thailand), Pingtung University (Taiwan). PLO of MSWM reflects those learning activities and collaboration, that is presented in Table 1 Based on the mapping results, each of the MSWM objectives correlates with the IQF as shown in Table 2.

ILO1 Honest, have professional culture and ethics, be responsible, contribute positively, think critically, creatively, have integrity, and demonstrate pioneering and leadership
ILO2 Have the ability to lead, organize and carry out scientific studies and research in a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary manner to answer problems in integrated land and environmental management
ILO3 Ability to compile scientific papers from research results in the form of theses and scientific articles, and publish them in reputable international or international scientific journals, or other mass media or directly to the public or government
ILO4 Ability to develop collegial-peer ship relationships through a network/forum of cooperation with agricultural expert communities and have sensitivity and concern for the community and the surrounding environment
ILO5 Have the ability to scientifically analyze with an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approach, to produce appropriate concepts to answer actual problems and support policies for sustainable agricultural development
ILO6 Have the ability to manage problems and issues of natural resources based on the results of scientific analysis with the support of information technology, as well as skills in social approach
ILO7 The ability to develop collegial-peer ship relations through a network/forum of cooperation with the agricultural expert community and have sensitivity and concern for the community and the surrounding environment

In line with the quality assurance policy in the FA UB, currently the MSWM implements the IQAS using seven academic & non-academic quality standards, and seven international standard higher education quality standards. Quality assurance in MSWM is carried out in order to maintain and improve the quality of education and learning continuously. Thus, it is expected that the quality of education and learning in MSWM is in accordance with the needs of its customers, and is recognized by higher education accreditation institutions. to realize the capacity of quality, effective and efficient study program managers and international standards. Produce graduates who are competent in the field of soil and water management and are able to compete at a global level. Develop research both local, regional, national and international in the field of land and water management and take an active role in community empowerment both regionally, nationally and internationally through the application of science and technology in related fields.

In implementing this IQAS, MSWM always tries to understand and live the “quality-culture” and strives to apply it in daily operational management on an ongoing basis. Thus, it is hoped that MSWM can realize its vision and mission, while meeting the needs of all its customers.

Akreditasi & Sertifikat
  1. Unggul Accreditation, One of the changes in BAN-PT Regulation Number 1 of 2020 is the term accreditation rating or accredited rating to be Excellent, Excellent and Good or Not Accredited for Accreditation carried out with IAPS 4.0 and IAPT 3.0

2. The National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) is the only accreditation body that has the authority from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia in improving the quality of higher education, introducing and disseminating the “New Paradigm in Higher Education Management”, and increasing relevance , academic atmosphere, institutional management, efficiency and sustainability of higher education.
